For twenty-five years I was a primary school teacher, and I loved every one of them. Every school holidays, my husband and I drove to Waihi Beach — and the moment those dunes came into view, something in me exhaled.
Eight years ago, after my last class, a small boutique came up for lease near that same beach. My husband Tom looked at me across the kitchen table and didn't say a word. He didn't have to.
I'd spent twenty-five years helping children discover confidence. Now I wanted to help women rediscover theirs. We moved, and that same year I opened the door of Wendy's Waihi Beach for the very first time.
Now I'm sixty-four, and it's time to close this chapter. Not because something went wrong. Because something went beautifully right — and I'm wise enough to know when a story has reached its ending.
This is my favourite sale. Every piece I ever chose for this boutique was chosen with one woman in mind — the real one, not the one on the hanger. That hasn't changed.
Everything must go, at the lowest prices I've ever offered.
Find something that makes you stop. Trust that feeling. I built this place around exactly that moment.
With love,
Wendy Anderson
